Stupid Repairman
I have just wasted three days waiting for a furnace repairman that doesn't show. Each day around 4pm he calls to inform me that he won't be able to make it after all and promises to come the next day. Each day I very graciously accept his apology and say I'll see him tomorrow in the hopes that he will actually show up one day. In reality I want to rip his head off. He obviously doesn't understand how difficult it is to be trapped at home with two very energetic children for days on end.
Toys on TV
How come toys on TV look like so much more fun than they really are once you get them home? And how do they make kids play with the toy for more than five seconds?
Humm, the many mysteries of life.

When art goes bad
While shopping with a friend at IKEA the other day she pointed out a craft activity she regularly has her daughter do. Apparently it's so interesting that her three-year-old angel will sit for hours on her own doing the bead shaping craft. I quickly bought the craft kit and couldn't wait to show it to Devin.
Let's just say that it didn't exactly keep Devin occupied. In fact, it was quite the opposite. She instead whined for help and after getting half way through a project, would destroy it in order to start over again. I'm ready to tear my hair out after one day with this craft kit.
So I called my friend to give her a piece of my mind.
"Maybe it's your fault for not knowing your own daughter," she countered. "When has Devin sat still for hours for anything?"
Checkmate. Devin's never sits still for more than a few minutes for anything. It's just not fair! My only consolation is that her younger daughter seems a little more like Devin. I'm evil and hoping that she will be as active as Devin, making it impossible for her mom to enjoy a moment of peace.

New Olympic Sport Idea
I have come to the conclusion that "Child Dressing" should become a new sport at the Olympics. The goal would be to get multiple children under the age of 4 dressed for the day.
It might actually be entertaining to see someone else running after a half dressed child while their sibling, a once fully dressed child, finds a quiet spot to undressed. Part of the game could then be finding hidden socks and wrestling them back on all over again.
Some mornings just wear me out!

Get off the couch
Want to get off the couch and do something good? Check out The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's of Canada's Team In Training®. It is the world's largest endurance sports training program. The program provides training to run or walk marathons and half marathons or participate in triathlons and century (100-mile) bike rides. Since 1988, more than 300,000 volunteer participants have helped raise more than $700 million.
They are currently holding information sessions throughout Canada to train for events in May 2008. What a great opportunity to raise funds for a good cause while getting in shape.
I hope you check it out.
